The project
Following severe weather, visible damage was discovered across sections of the industrial roof at PQ Silicas in Warrington.
The client needed detailed imagery of the affected roof panels to understand the extent and location of the visible damage before arranging closer access and repair work.
Because of the size, height and industrial nature of the building, obtaining a complete view from ground level was not practical. Immediate widespread roof access would also require additional safety planning and equipment.
Our approach
The flight was planned around the site’s operating environment and the agreed inspection areas.
Wide aerial photographs were captured to show the position of the affected sections across the roof. Closer images were then taken to document visible panel damage and provide additional detail for the maintenance team and contractors.
The combination of overview and close-up imagery created a clear visual record of the roof without requiring personnel to access every affected section during the initial investigation.
The finished result
The completed image set helped the client review the location and visible condition of the damaged panels.
This supported more targeted planning for closer inspection, safe access and repair work, rather than arranging widespread access across the entire roof from the outset.
The high-resolution images were delivered digitally, allowing them to be viewed and shared with the relevant maintenance teams and contractors.
